NOTICE is hereby given that the Franklin County Board of Supervisors, Meadville, Mississippi, will receive written sealed bids until the hour of 9:00 am local time on Monday, June 2, 2025, at the office of the Franklin County Board of Supervisors located 36 Main St. East, Meadville, MS 39653 (601-384-2330) for the furnishing of all labor and materials, and for performing all activities specified in the Contract Documents, for the construction of the Bogue Chitto Road / Middleton Creek Road Chip Seal.
The project includes the Chip Seal – base and seal coat of approximately 2.25 miles of existing County Roadway. The Contract Time will be forty-five (45) consecutive calendar days, and the liquidated damages will be $100 per consecutive calendar day thereafter.
Plans, contract documents and proposal forms are on file for public inspection in the office of the Franklin County Board of Supervisors, 36 Main St. East, Meadville, MS 39653, and in the office of the Engineer, WGK, Inc., 204 W. Leake St., Clinton, MS 39056 (601-925-4444). All documents required for bidding purposes, including specifications and plans, may be viewed for free at www.wgkengineersprojects.com. Documents may be downloaded for a non-refundable charge of $75. Hard Copies are also available for ordering online for a non-refundable fee. Online bidding will only be accepted through use of the www.wgkengineersprojects.com website.
Bids for this work will be accepted only under the name of the Bidder to whom the Contract Documents and Addenda, if any, have been issued by the Engineer. Bids received by bidders to whom the Contract Documents were not issued by the Engineer will be returned unopened.
State law requires a non-resident bidder to attach/include a copy of his resident state’s current law pertaining to such state’s treatment of non-resident contractors with their bid. Any bid submitted by a non-resident contractor which does not include the non-resident contractor’s current state law shall be rejected and not considered for award.
All bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at the hour of 9:00 am local time on Monday, June 2, 2025, at the office of the Franklin County Board of Supervisors located 36 Main St. East, Meadville, MS 39653. Bids will be considered by the Franklin County Board of Supervisors at or before the next regular meeting thereof to be held within thirty (30) days of the date of receipt of bids.
The Franklin County Board of Supervisors reserves the right to waive any and all informalities in the bidding and to reject any and all bids.
